Yeshe Makes Brownies by Paula and Yeshe

I’ve never made brownies before, and I wanted to see what homemade brownies looked like because I’ve only ever had a brownie once before.

I knew about the YouTube channel Binging with Babish and decided to take his recipe of chewy fudgy brownies.

I felt pretty confident of making them by myself and so I tried it and it worked perfectly.

Chewy, Fudgy Brownies

  • ⅓ cup cocoa powder

  • 1 ½ tsp espresso powder

  • 2 ounces unsweetened chocolate, chopped (I used 85% dark chocolate)

  • ½ cup plus 2 Tbsp boiling water

  • 4 Tbsp butter

  • ½ cup plus 2 Tbsp vegetable oil

  • 2 large eggs plus 2 egg yolks

  • 1 ½ tsp vanilla extract

  • 2 ½ cups granulated sugar

  • 1 ¾ cup all purpose flour (plain flour)

  • 6 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped

Preheat your oven to about 176 degrees celsius (350 degrees fahrenheit)

Prepare your baking dish by greasing and lining with parchment paper

  1. In a large bowl, combine cocoa powder, espresso powder, chopped unsweetened chocolate, and boiling water. Stir to combine and get everything melted.

  2. While still warm, add butter and stir until melted. Add vegetable oil and stir again.

  3. Once the mixture has cooled, add the eggs and egg yolks and stir to combine.

  4. Add vanilla extract and whisk, then add granulated sugar and stir to combine.

  5. Next, add flour. Mix it thoroughly and then add the chopped bittersweet chocolate. Stir to combine one last time.

  6. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake at 350°F for 30-35 minutes, until a tester comes out clean-ish.

  7. Let brownies cool for one hour in the pan.

  8. Remove them from pan using parchment. Serve and enjoy!

Don’t worry if it looks too risen, it will go back down after cooling for an hour!
