I'm making plantain and chicken wings tonight! - by Fatim

This is an all time favourite, my family love this!

you can do this!

With a bit of careful preparation, this is worth the effort!

First rinse the wings properly, make sure all bits of water is removed and get the knife to slice a mark on the wings. That helps the seasoning to get in.

ingredients

Now these are the ingredients you need to marinate your wings once you've finished doing your cleaning prep.

* 2tsp paprika.

* 2 tsp of Dijon mustard or English mustard both does the same job.

* add a little bit of black pepper to your liking.

* 1tsp of garlic past then add a pinch of salt and 1 oxo cube.

wash your hands

Once all the seasoning is added to the wings, wash your hands ✋ and start marinating the wings with your clean hands.

This helps the seasoning to coat the wings really well.

time to rest

Once marinated leave the wings to rest for 10 to 15 minutes so that it can soak in all the goodness from the seasoning.

Once rested start frying the wings until golden.

the versatile plantain - not a banana!

This is called plantain and it originated from Africa and some people that are not familiar with it call it ‘big banana’ but it's completely different from bananas and it tastes different too.

Plantain can be cooked in so many ways. You can fry it, boil it and also can be made into mash and it tastes absolutely delicious 😋

be prepared!

Once I’ve peeled my plantain, I cut them into small slices then add a little pinch of salt to get ready for frying.

When the plantain is ready to fry, heat up your sunflower oil or vegetable oil until very hot then add the plantain to fry until golden.

Once all the plantain is cooked to golden, use the rest of the oil to fry the wings until golden too.

Once it's all done. Your final results should be like this and ready to be enjoyed with a little chilli sauce on the side. 🌶 🌶😋😋😋😋
