Time’s tabled schedules rise up passed your neck

acutely angled to the keyboard’s spec.

Your eyes lockdown then face up to the screen.

Your thoughts now follow through this up down trek

to creeks of shoulder muscles and between.

The starlight of the spinning universe

cascades throughout your mind

a scarlet vision that your thoughts rehearse

above, beside, behind

this necessary screen time, cramped and terse.

You focus on your students’ needs, don’t cry,

clamped onto duty’s consequential sky,

and feel how great your higher soul behaves,

as though your shoulder blades were wings to fly

to sages’ counsel deep in heavens’ caves.
