Growing Food amongst Flowers!


I’ve always grown vegetables of many sorts. Growing up, we grew a lot of our food and to this day, I remember tips shared by family and friends.

We lived in an old farmhouse which was then converted into a rope factory, then a family home. The ground, fertile.

These days, I grow more food in pots because our garden has poor soil. It was a new build 30 years ago and the foundations are basically rubble with a thin dusting of top soil.

Here’s a photo of some runner beans and French beans I harvested this morning.

These very delicious, healthy beans are from plants in pots amongst other non-edible garden plants. I wonder if you can see them! There are some dwarf variety French beans in the photo below -
