rose

Rose lives in Cornwall. She studied Art and Design Penwith Collage and then went on to study Fine Art gaining her BA Hons degree in 2011 at Plymouth University. Since then she has been focusing her skills in Watercolour painting which has recently led her to working with Silk.
“I have always wished to create art that is Beautiful and inspiring. This has been my one wish since I was young, and being in Cornwall, so close to the countryside and the sea, it feels very natural to have these influence and infuse with my imagination.
My first love was Watercolour painting, and it's something that I keep returning to. The silk painting evolved from this, they are all hand painted so the colours change along with the layouts.
I don't like the idea of mass production when it comes to artwork, so for me creating Limited Editions, Originals and things that have that added special touch, goes towards making something special as well as unique.”

In the lead up to bring new life into the world, Part 2 follows Rose from 25 weeks pregnant up to 36 weeks. She talks about her activities, physical and mental changes and challenges.
This is also her last entry till after her baby is born in April and so hopes to return in May.
Back in August Rose and her husband were happily surprised to find out that she was pregnant. Rose shares her early experiences of pregnancy and how other women responded to the news.
Back in September I treated myself to a workshop with the lovely Annabel Wilks.
I ran a little workshop last November, the workshop was to decorate brown wrapping paper with patterns for Christmas.
My initial idea for this blog entry was to clear up some ideas people might have about these 2 terms.
To get ideas, I spend time outside, reading, looking at others work etc... with the current situation in the world, I've been spending lots of time in the garden and this year it was a wash of primroses and bluebells, which is what i’m using for this new deign.
For those that are new to silk painting here is a little history and explanation about silk techniques.
