ioanna

My name is Ioanna Kalogirou. I was born in Cyprus and studied in Athens School of Fine arts, in Greece.
After my graduation I returned back to Cyprus. I am currently teaching art in my art studio. I spend my time gardening my small garden, painting nature outdoors as well as other subjects in my studio and teaching art.
I am happy that my art studio is currently growing as a space for hosting different events, and bringing people together to use it in different ways. Up to now, we have had events such as rain stick workshops, jamming sessions, art therapy lessons, cell-biology art lessons and meditation sessions.
Since my art studio was created, I remember dreaming of inviting Seikilo to come and see and explore the possibilities of making something here

What painting outdoors has given me, is beyond words..I hope my blogs as well as my artwork can offer you an insight to my great love and respect towards both Art and Nature..
I met Socratis and his friends accidentally two years ago, when I was exploring the natural beauty of Cyprus. I was very excited to find other people in Cyprus building with cob and natural building!

I’m really pleased that my lovely friend Ioanna is joining Carry Forth Tradition as a contributor - all the way form Cyprus! I look forward to seeing her posts and ventures!
Being in a state of uncertainty when painting, I sometimes take a step back and focus on my own inner growth. Sometimes inspiration comes from within, but some other times, we get motivated from things that come at the perfect time.
